Small crew today, but planted out a tray of Tea Trees and Sheoaks very efficiently! Ground still has quite a lot of moisture, so might be able to do one more planting before the end of the season... we certainly have the seedlings for it.
Lake St. Clair
Made some great progress with the dedicated crew today. Over a tray of tea tree seedlings planted, a couple sheoaks and some tidying up of prior years planting. Sun came out, no wind, beautiful.
Today we had a great crew for tree planting at Lake St. Clair. We planted out a couple trays (200 trees) in a new area on the West side of the track, towards the lake. We've been planting Melaleuca lanceolata (Dryland Tea Tree) and Allocasuarina verticillata (Drooping Sheoak) trees @ Lake St. Clair for a number of years. It's a special lake, and habit for the threatened Swamp Antechinus.
Today is our second day to complete our scheduled revegetation project at Lake St. Clair: melaleuca lanceolata and sheok (allocasuarina verticillata) seedlings.
Today with planted our own year-old seedlings at Lake St. Clair: melaleuca lanceolata and sheok (allocasuarina verticillata) seedlings.
One of the most favorite activities for many of our volunteers is to go out and plant trees! How spectacular to then watch them flourish! Today we headed to Lake Sinclair and planted tee trees and sheoaks' seedlings which we had planted in trays the previous year.
