planting

We had a great crew at the nursery last Sunday: we cleaned up and planted a few pots of cushion bushes, dianella grass and olearia. We planted many trays of muntries and native rosemary from cuttings. We also trasplanted seedlings of tea trees and sheoaks.

Next Sunday we will continue with seedlings trays, repotting trees, and other projects at the nursery. Come by and meet us there at 3pm.

Friends of Little Dip Robe have been very busy during these past winter months planting 600 trees and bush plants in our Robe conservation areas.  Among some of the plants are Melaleuca lanceolata (Dryland Tea Tree), Allocasuarina verticillata (Drooping Sheoak), Eucalyptus diversifolia (Coastal Mallee), Olearia axillaris (Coastal Rosemary), Myoporum Insulare (Boobiala) and Leucophyta brownii (Cushion Bush) propogated by FOLD volunteers from cuttings taken in the park last year.

Small crew today, but planted out a tray of Tea Trees and Sheoaks very efficiently! Ground still has quite a lot of moisture, so might be able to do one more planting before the end of the season... we certainly have the seedlings for it.

What a day! And how beautiful is Old Man Lake?!

This is one of those days we love best here at FOLD.  We are planting trees in a clear crisp winter day, among this beautiful bush in rich colours brought by the sunrays. Sunny, a nice group of volunteers, and we are planting tree seedlings!

We planted 2 trays of tree seedling!

One of the most favorite activities for many of our volunteers is to go out and plant trees! How spectacular to then watch them flourish! Today we headed to Lake Sinclair and planted tee trees and sheoaks' seedlings which we had planted in trays the previous year.

What a day at the nursery! Such a lovely group of passionate volunteers have work hard today preparing the trays and planting seeds we had previously collected. Lots has been accomplished today and we all went home feeling good about the day!
