revegetation

Friends of Little Dip Robe have been very busy during these past winter months planting 600 trees and bush plants in our Robe conservation areas.  Among some of the plants are Melaleuca lanceolata (Dryland Tea Tree), Allocasuarina verticillata (Drooping Sheoak), Eucalyptus diversifolia (Coastal Mallee), Olearia axillaris (Coastal Rosemary), Myoporum Insulare (Boobiala) and Leucophyta brownii (Cushion Bush) propogated by FOLD volunteers from cuttings taken in the park last year.

Pretty nice day to be out in the park today. We planted out a new small coastal reveg area towards the end of Erringtons Hole track and then a track and beach clean-up. Well done crew! (also found a couple sections of damaged track fence which will be next week's project.)

Small crew today, but planted out a tray of Tea Trees and Sheoaks very efficiently! Ground still has quite a lot of moisture, so might be able to do one more planting before the end of the season... we certainly have the seedlings for it.

Last couple weekends we've been working on the coastal track section between Stony Rise and Evans Cave Rd. Two sections of track fence with steel cable were damaged (the posts were cut). We took the opportunity to replace and upgrade the damaged sections, and plant out reveg to support the adjacent foredune areas. Great crew today and got lots of work done.

This week we continued on from last weeks work behind Matches beach. We got some foredune reveg in and finished the clean-up of the southern half of Matches. Great crew and great work!

Made some great progress with the dedicated crew today. Over a tray of tea tree seedlings planted, a couple sheoaks and some tidying up of prior years planting. Sun came out, no wind, beautiful.

Started off with work at the nursery today, cleaning up an area where council used to keep the old main street wine-barrel planters, and weeding and combining seeding trays of Olearia axillaris (Coastal Rosemary), Myoporum Insulare (Boobiala) and Bursaria Spinosa (Christmas Bush).

Today we planted out two areas near the coastal track that have new vehicle fencing to protect vulternable cliff-top dunes. Great turn-out, great effort all! We planted Olearia axillaris (Coastal Rosemary), Myoporum Insulare (Boobiala) and Leucophyta brownii (Cushion Bush) propogated by FOLD volunteers from cuttings taken in the park about 8 months ago.

Today we had a great crew for tree planting at Lake St. Clair. We planted out a couple trays (200 trees) in a new area on the West side of the track, towards the lake. We've been planting Melaleuca lanceolata (Dryland Tea Tree) and Allocasuarina verticillata (Drooping Sheoak) trees @ Lake St. Clair for a number of years. It's a special lake, and habit for the threatened Swamp Antechinus.

What a day! And how beautiful is Old Man Lake?!

This is one of those days we love best here at FOLD.  We are planting trees in a clear crisp winter day, among this beautiful bush in rich colours brought by the sunrays. Sunny, a nice group of volunteers, and we are planting tree seedlings!

We planted 2 trays of tree seedling!
