What a day! And how beautiful is Old Man Lake?!
This is one of those days we love best here at FOLD. We are planting trees in a clear crisp winter day, among this beautiful bush in rich colours brought by the sunrays. Sunny, a nice group of volunteers, and we are planting tree seedlings!
We planted 2 trays of tree seedling!
Today was the epic Robe Easter Classic surf comp! We helped out setting up and stayed to cleanup! Rinaldo helped out presenting the competitors.
Today at the Nursery we care for the seedlings and worked on the timber frames for the signs that will go up by the lakes.
Great job Rinaldo, John and Roland on these amazing frames for the signs! They look magnificent, and sturdy!
What a wonderful crowd of FOLD volunteers today! Lots was accomplished at the nursery with so many helping hands.
Installed dune protection at the back of the Evans Cave beach
Davidson's property tour + beach clean-up at Third Ramp.
At the end of today's session we stayed to surf and some stayed to watch and hang out.
It was windy and the cold has returned .... but there is FOLD... and what a wonderful incentive to get out of the house, walk these beautiful beaches and laugh a little.
It warms the inside with pleasure being together, keeping our beaches clean, breathing in the fresh sea air, fill our senses with the power of nature which we can enjoy in its vivid colors, crashing sounds and majestic wild views.
And we saw Hooded Plovers.
Exhilarating.
Beach clean-up today! Thanks to Andrew the hero of the day :) for untangling all that rope which would have disintegrated into microplastic
Weeding & planting seedlings at the nursery today!
